Gorongosa Girdled Lizard Smaug (syn. Cordylus) mossambicus

The Gorongosa Girdled Lizard is native to Mount Gorongosa and neighbouring area in Mozambique. It is also called the Mozambique Girdled Lizard and the Flame-bellied Armadillo Lizard, the latter after the bright orange underside of the breeding male. It reaches some 28cm total length and 14cm (6 inches) snout to vent length.
