The Northern Curly-tailed Lizard, also called the Cuban Curly-tailed, is one of several species of curly-tailed
lizards prevalent throughout the Carribbean. In addition to Cuba, it is native to the Bahamas, Caymans and Honduras.
The curly tail, which can curl right up in several circles, is used as a threat (territorial and anti-predator) and in courtship.
It will also play dead as a defence against some predators that eat only live food.
