The Collared Tree Lizard is also called the Harlequin Racerunner, both named after the animal's appearance with a black collar
and a colourful and patterned skin. It is also called the Spinyhead Tree Lizard. Native to northern South America, its head is
red and body green, similar to the larger Caiman Lizard from the same region.
The green patterned body gives good camouflage in its treetop habitat. The male is more strongly coloured red than the female.
An adult is around 6 inches in length. Diet is mainly ants. Eggs are laid on the ground and the hatchling bursts out of the egg and starts running.
