The Yellow-headed Gecko is native to parts of Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Only the males have the orange head and dark body; females are a light cryptic brown. It can grow to 70-90mm (about 3 inches) long.
Although the Yellow-headed Gecko is often active during the day, the Yellow-headed Day Gecko of Madagascar
and the Dwarf Yellow-headed Gecko of East Africa are separate species in different genera.
