The Asian Water Dragon, also called the Chinese or Thai Water Dragon, is a semi aquatic lizard native to much of southeast
Asia, including China, Indochina and part of India.
It doesn't live in water but is partly arboreal and generally lives beside water in forests. It can stay
submerged in water for some 25 minutes.
It can grow to a metre long, two thirds of which is tail. The tail helps it swim. It has a third "eye"
on top of the head which senses changes in light levels.
