There are several Mountain Horned Dragons, also called Pricklenape Agamas, all native to southeast Asia.
The species shown here, called just the Mountain Horned Dragon or the Green Prinklenape, is native to mountain forests of Cambodia and south Vietnam.
They are diurnal, mainly tree-dwelling, well-camouflaged and eat insects. Both males and females have the horned nape.
They can grow to nearly a foot long.
Murphy's Pricklenape is native to east Central Vietnam. Until 2018, it was considered the same species as the
Mountain Horned Dragon (Green Pricklenape) above. It can vary its colour from olive green to brown or grey with its mood and background.
Natalia's Pricklenape or Mountain Horned Dragon is native to mountain forests of Vietnam and Laos.
It takes its name from a Russian herpetologist. It can grow to over 40cm long (including tail).
