The Western Bearded Anole is native to western Cuba (a different species, the Bearded Anole, is endemic
to St Martins in the Lesser Antilles). The beard looks especially impressive when the anole extends its dewlap. The anole grows
to some 18cm snout-to-vent length with tails a little shorter than that. Slow moving, since its main prey is snails, it is one
of six large anoles, all native to Cuba, known as False Chameleons.
