Over the years, many people have kindly asked permission to use photos from this website and several have asked to use them as a model for artwork from drawings, paintings, embroidery and mosaics. It is always gratifying to know that people find inspiration from one's own photos of nature. Recently, Matt Gould used the above photo of a Superb Fruit Dove as a basis to paint the above "superb" painting. Painted in oil on wood panel, he placed the bird with berries of yellow laurel, the dove's natural diet. It is reproduced with his permission.
