Pole Dancing
Through the seasons Squirrels have tried to overcome the squirrel-proof tray/baffle to reach the bird feeder.
Mostly they failed,
but did become competent pole dancers.
"What's up? And how do I get there?"
Tawnier (Torn ear) was made of sterner stuff
or she didn't read the label saying "squirrel-proof".
"If that Bullfinch can get up there, so can I".
I can do this.
There were multiple failed attempts
but she made it (even when wet and slippery)
and tasted the rewards of success.
It wasn't a one-off. There were more attempts, many more failures . . .
. . . and more successes
which gave access to the peanut feeder,
the peanut cake
and sunflower seeds.
