The mis-named Willow Beauty is not one of the most beautiful of moths, nor does its caterpillar favour willows.
The clarity of the pattern varies. Wingspan 30-38mm; UK flight time Jul-Sep.
Above left is a female Willow Beauty with regular antennae and above right the amazing feathered antennae of the male - for sensing pheromones.
