The Common Quaker moth varies a little in intensity of background markings but all have a pale line bordering
the back edge of the forewing intersected by thin pale lines and also have a pale line bordering the two "stigmata"
(circle and kidney blotches) on each forewing.
Wingspan 34-40mm; UK flight time Mar-Apr.
This unfortunate moth found drowning in a bird bath (possibly dropped out of the sky
to evade a bat or mistook a reflection in the water) dried out OK on paper towel and eventually flew away.
