The Swallow Prominent's natural colouring above. Wingspan 45-55mm; UK flight time May-Aug.
It looks a bit yellower under artificial light (different individual).
Usual resting position of both Swallow Prominents from the side.
Similar to its relative, the Swallow Prominent, but the Lesser Swallow Prominent can be identified by the wider white wedge-shaped
triangle on the top edge of its forewing (nearest to body when wings are closed). It is not much smaller than its relative at a wingspan 45-50mm.
UK flight time May-Jun; Aug-Sep.
