Pale Brindled Beauty Moth Phigalia pilosaria (Apocheima pilosaria)

Looking like a triangular Willow Beauty moth but with a full head of hair, this moth flies from late December through to March. Like several winter moths (eg Winter Moth and Mottled Umber), only the males fly, seeking the wingless females on tree trunks.
