The Small Grey, Eudonia mercurella, looks similar to several other moths in genera
Eudonia, Scoparia and Dipleurina.
Wingspan 16-19mm; UK flight time Jun-Sep.
Some are more brown than grey. The one above right is more black than grey and is lacking its white lines.
Eudonia mercuella or Scoparia (basistrigalis/ambigualis) species?
Above could be the Little Grey, Eudonia/Dipleurina lacustrata, which is brown with a pale centre bar,
or the Small Grey.
Above could be the Little Grey, Eudonia/Dipleurina lacustrata, with a pale centre bar,
or the Common/Brown Grey, Scoparia ambigualis, with a greenish grey tinge (or another species).
