Adela reaumurella is one of two small day-flying moths with extremely long antennae known as "fairy" moths.
These enchanting fairies dance in groups around bushes in sunlight and could well be mistaken for fairies at the end of the garden.
Depending on the angle of the light, their wings change from black to metallic blue-green to shiny gold.
Wingspan 14-18mm; UK flight time Apr-Jun.
