Grass Emerald Moth Pseudoterpna pruinata

Grass Emerald moth
When newly-emerged, the Grass Emerald moth is bluish green. However, it quickly fades to a grey-beige colour as above. A green tinge can still be seen on the head and some blue-green scales are still visible on the underwings. Wingspan 30-35mm; UK flight time Jun-Jul.

The above photo was taken in early August 2010 in Cork, Ireland, by Ken Billington and is used with his permission.
