The small orange-brown Burnet Companion moth flies in long grass on sunny days.
It is so named because it is usually found in the same locations as the larger day-flying black and red Burnet moths.
The orange underwings brighten the patterned brown forewings like a lamp in the sunlight.
Wingspan 25-30 mm. UK flight time: Jun-Jul.
