Hebridean Sheep are an old breed from the Scottish islands (but probably not from the Hebrides).
They are well-suited to a cold, wet and windy climate, having two layers of thick wool - an insulating, warm, woolly
underlayer and a coarse, long, waterproof top layer.
Their fleece is usually black, dark brown or black with grey and both rams and ewes can have two,
four or even six horns.
They are hardy in all weathers and all terrains and browse on shrubs, brambles, hedges and
coarser grasses that other sheep might reject (making them helpful for conservation grazing.)
