Blackface Sheep, also called Scottish Blackface although it originated in England, is one of
the most common domestic sheep breeds in the UK. It has a white body with a black head and legs and has horns. There
are different types of fleece, particularly: a coarse, longish fleece (above), a shorter fleece and a softer fleece, but all
are rough and used for fillings, carpet or heavy tweed fabric.
Those shown above are one of sheep breeds roaming free on Dartmoor (along with Dartmoor Greyface
and Dartmoor Whiteface).
