The British Saddleback Pig is a breed created in the 1960s from two older, established British breeds
of "belted" pigs - the Wessex Saddleback and the Essex Saddleback.
Like the forebears, it is a large, lop-eared, dark pig with a light, pinkish "saddle" around the shoulders
and front legs. Sows typically have some 10 piglets per litter.
