The old feeder was becoming a little rusty and too easy to climb.
Despite the new, yellow squirrel-proof cage feeder, the squirrels still ate well.
The new cage feeder did allow the birds to eat - even large parakeets. But the squirrels ate and "squirrelled away"
too much of the birds' food.
So we invested in a new "umbrella" feeder station - which resulted in more pole dancing.
FLYING SQUIRRELS: Of course it is most important that the feeding station is sited away from fences and trees,
beyond the range of "flying squirrels".
A hungry squirrel is both resourceful and persistent.
We also added new cage feeders, which seemed to have defeated the squirrels.
Nuts!
