The (Eurasian) Badger is mainly crepuscular or nocturnal, but can sometimes be seen in the day.
The Eurasian Badger is native to most of Europe and part of western Asia. Another two species of similar-looking badgers
cover much of the remainder of Asia.
The subspecies in Britain and much of Europe is Meles meles meles. The winter coat is longer with sharper
silver grey, black and white.
The summer coat is coarser and shorter, often with sandy yellow highlights.
