The Himalayan Tahr is related to the wild goat. It has short, backward-growing horns (females shorter than larger males) and lives on rocky
mountain slopes of the Himalayas.
The Himalayan Tahr is not closely related to the similar-looking Arabian and Indian Tahrs and the latter have been recently moved
to their own separate genera.
Himalayan Tahrs have been introduced to some other countries for hunting.
