The Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, also called the Indian Rhino, is native to Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and some of north-eastern India. Its natural range has been massively reduced.

The rare Lesser One-horned or Javan Rhino looks similar but much smaller (less than 100 in the wild); the Sumatran Rhino looks like a hybrid of the African and Asian Rhinos, having fairly loose, armoured hide and two horns.
