Arapawa Goat
The Arapawa Goat is descended from Old English Goats taken to New Zealand in the 1700s by Captain Cook as food. As the feral goats evolved in isolation from two goats left on Arapawa Island, they have now become one of the rarest breeds.

Feral imported animals, including the Arapawa Goat, are not generally welcome on New Zealand as they have a detrimental impact on native wildlife. The goats remain feral, some in a sanctuary, and are culled annually.
