The Dromedary, Camelus dromedarius, also called the Arabian Camel,
has only one hump. The camel is entirely domesticated; no truly wild-origin animals remain, although a feral (domesticated then gone wild)
group live in the Australian outback. Domesticated herds are mainly in Arabia and East Africa.
It is slimmer, taller and has a shorter coat than the Bactrian.
More than 90% of the world's camels are Dromedaries.
Life can be boring.
The Dromedary is the more usual camel for riding and desert caravans (although Bactrians are also used for both).
