The Impala is a medium-sized antelope from southern and eastern Africa. It has a reddish brown coat with white belly and two distinctive black stripes on its rump and one on its tail. It also has scent glands covered by black hair on the lower hindlegs. There are two subspecies: the Common (shown) and the Dark-faced from southwest Africa.

The male (shown) has large, lyre-shaped horns. Females do not have horns. Females live in all-female herds. Males either hold a territory or live in all male herds.
