Blue Wildebeest/Brindled Gnu Connochaetes taurinus

The Blue Wildebeest, also called the Brindled Gnu and Common Wildebeest, is native to the plains of southern and south-eastern Africa. Both male and female have horns.

It is closely related to the Black Wildebeest, also called the White-tailed Gnu. Both the Blue and the Black Wildebeest can be brown, the former brindled with darker streaks, as above.

Wildebeest live in vast herds and migrate large distances to find enough fresh grass to graze.
