The Blue Wildebeest, also called the Brindled Gnu and Common Wildebeest, is native to the plains of southern and south-eastern Africa. Both male and female have horns.

It is closely related to the Black Wildebeest, also called the White-tailed Gnu. Both the Blue and the Black Wildebeest can be brown, the former brindled with darker streaks, as above.
