A Dik-dik is a tiny African antelope, named after the sound the female makes when alarmed. Kirk's Dik-dik is just over a foot high and native to scrub areas of East and Southwest Africa.

Male Dik-dik have small horns. Male and female usually pair for life and live in pairs, the male defending the territory from other Dik-diks.

A unicorn dik-dik (centre). Dik-diks have a scent gland below the eye, used to secrete their scent on grass stems and twigs to mark the territory.

Both male and female have a small tuft of orange hair on their forehead, in the case of the male, partially hiding his horns.
