The Grey Langur, also called the Hanuman Langur (after a Hindu god), is a monkey native to the Indian sub-continent,
from the Himalayas to Sri Lanka. Some propose or treat populations from different regions as separate species rather than subspecies.

Males are similar in appearance to but larger than females.
They live in social groups with strict hierarchy.
Depending on region, some are mixed groups, some are female with a dominant male and where the latter exist there are also all-male groups.
