The White-throated Guenon, also called the Red-bellied Monkey, is native to rainforest of Nigeria and Benin. There are two subspecies. Shown is the nominal which is also the Red-bellied. The other is the Nigerian White-throated.

This rare and highly endangered monkey was thought extinct, driven to extinction by hunting for its prized red belly fur and white fur. Some were re-discovered in 1988.

In addition to the white throat/beard, they have blond highlights on the head. They live in groups of a dominant male and several females. Bachelor males are mainly solitary.
