The Moustached Monkey or Moustached Guenon is native to forests of west central Africa.
Typically a troop of females/offspring led by an alpha male will live together with other guenon species,
increasing the larger group's protection from predators. Hydridisation is extremely rare as they recognise their own species'
colours and features.
Shown is the nominal subspspecies, the Red-tailed Moustached Guenon. Fruit is the main diet.
Their main threats are deforestation and the bushmeat trade.
