The Lar Gibbon, also called the White-handed Gibbon, is native to now fragmented tropical forests in Thailand,
Malaysia and parts of Indochina, although probably no longer in China itself.
They are agile climbers with great arm strength to swing through the trees and have among the longest arm to body ratio of primates.
Male and female have similar appearance. Fur of either can be black, dark brown, honey-/golden-coloured or
light fawn-white, always with light fawn-white hands, feet and face border.
They spend most of their life high in the trees.
