The endangered Moloch Gibbon, also called the Silvery Gibbon, is native to tracts of rainforest in west and central Java (Indonesia).
They live in small family groups.
Like all Gibbons, they are apes rather than monkeys and so closely related to humans.
They are endangered by habitat destruction and capture for the pet trade.

The Thinker
Unlike most gibbons which duet to enforce territory and pair bonds, the male Moloch sings solo at dawn and the female
sings solo later in the day.
