The Plantain Squirrel, also called the Oriental and the Tricoloured (confusingly since there are many other oriental and tricoloured tree squirrels), is native to the Malaysian peninsula and parts of Thailand and Indonesia.

It has an orange-coloured belly (difficult to see) bordered with pale fur and a black line, giving a tricolour on each flank.
