The Squirrel Glider is a bushy-tailed, nocturnal tree possum native to the eastern coast of Australia.
Unlike the "flying squirrels" (gliders) of America and Asia, the Australian Gliders are marsupials.
Using loose skin between its front and back limbs, it can glide from one tree to another up to some 50 metres.
At some 40-50 cm long (over half is tail, which is prehensile), the Squirrel Glider is about twice the size of the related Sugar Glider.
