Ground Cuscus Phalanger gymnotis

The Ground Cuscus is one of several species of Cuscus, a type of Possum. It is native to New Guinea and a few Indonesian islands.

It has a bare, prehensile tail for foraging in trees but lives in a burrow in the ground. It is generally solitary and nocturnal.

Like other possums, it is a marsupial (carries young in a pouch on its belly).
