Eastern Spiny Mouse Acomys dimidiatus dimidiatus

Eastern Spiny Mice, also called Arabian Spiny Mice, are native to much of the Middle East, from the Arabian Peninsula and Sinai to southern Iraq, Iran and Pakistan. They grow to head/body length of 17cm plus tail of 12cm. They live in family groups in rocky habitat and are mainly nocturnal. The "Spiny" in their name comes from the stiff guardhairs on their coat.
