African Striped Grass Mouse Lemniscomys barbarus/zebra/striatus

The African Striped Grass Mouse, also called the Zebra Mouse, is native to Africa. It is one of several related species of striped African mice, all except "barbarus/Barbary" from sub-Sahara.

The Striped Mice are active during the day, mainly the cooler part of the morning/late afternoon, and while foraging help pollinate several plants, particularly Protea species.

They live in burrows under bushes and in long grass. Some species are also kept as domestic pets.
