The Tolai Hare is a shy, mainly nocturnal species of hare native to steppe, semi-steppe and desert of Central Asia,
Mongolia and China.
A large hare (can reach some 2 feet long) and, like most hares, very fast, it has a light sandy, brown or grey coat,
ginger nape, white underside, white circles round the eyes and a black tail top. It has a vast range and is hunted by
people and predators.
