The Asiatic Lion has a "belly fold" said not to be found on the African lion. (Some Barbary
Lions appear to have the same feature?)
Female Asiatic Lions and cubs live in small prides (groups) and, unlike the African Lions, males live separately
and a dominant male does not live with the pride.
Lion cubs - a little spotted when born, these still have spots on legs, belly and tail but will lose the spots as they grow.
