Seba's Short-tailed Bat is a microbat and while it eats fruit it is not a "fruit bat" and also eats pollen and insects. It is native to Central and South America.
Like most bats, it is nocturnal. Fruit-eating bats are important pollinators and seed dispersers.
They are a type of leaf-nosed bat, the nose structure giving an excellent sense of smell for locating fruit trees
at night.
