Despite its small size (head/body length c. 8 cm), the Lesser Dog-faced Fruit Bat is one of the megabats.
Also called Short-nosed Fruit Bat, they are native to parts of South and Southeast Asia.
Nocturnal, they have white edges to their ears and whitish wing bones and "eat" the juices of small fruits
(chew fruit and spit out pulp) and nectar. They are important pollinators and seed dispersers.
