The Yellow-spotted Isopod or Woodlouse, as its name indicates, has a dark grey background with strong,
lemon-yellow spots. It is native to France and Italy and is a large woodlouse at 20mm long.
The yellow spots are arranged in two parallel rows of triangular marks and a row of dashes encircling the whole.
They live in and eat leaf litter. They are sometimes called the Giant Neon Yellow Isopod by terrarium owners who prize them
for cleaning terrarium debris (and a providing calcium-rich snack to other terrarium residents).
