Orange Isopod
The Orange Isopod, as its name indicates, is an orange body colour. It is a large woodlouse at 18mm long. It is smooth-surfaced. It is sometimes called the Giant Orange Isopod to distinguish it from the similar-looking Powder Orange Isopod, a colour variant of the smaller Tropical Woodlouse, Porcellionides pruinosus. It also resembles the orange morph of the Variable Isopod, Porcellio incanus.

Probably originally native to North Africa, it is now found in Europe, including the UK, in the Americas, Asia and Australasia. It is also captive-bred for cleaning terraria and for live food for captive reptiles. Other colour variants of the same species are bred under different names, such as the White and the Diary Cow Isopod.
