Clown Isopod Armadillidium klugii

The regular colours for the Clown Isopod are black with white spots and orange edging, ie clown colours, but these are lacking the orange. Some have yellow, orange or red spots. Clown Isopods are native to the eastern Adriatic coastline, mainly the northern, Balkan/Dalmation end.

They grow to 21mm long. The red/orange spots are said to be mimicking the poisonous Mediterranean Black Widow spider.
