The Long-horned or Yellow Soil Centipede, G. flavus meaning yellow, also known as G. longicornis meaning long-horned, has a yellowish body and red head and particularly long antennae for its size (5 times its head width). It lives beneath the topsoil.

Looking a little dragonish, it grows to some 45mm long. Females have 43-57 pairs of legs, one pair on each body segment, and males 41-53 pairs.
