The Amazonian Giant Centipede is the world's largest known extant centipede reaching over 30cm (1 foot) long. It is native to northern South American forest and is also called the Peruvian Giant Yellow-leg Centipede. A fearsome predator to small animals, it can also give a venomous bite to people if disturbed (but will usually flee).
