The Sunny Stick Insect, a corruption of its other name of Sungay Stick Insect, is native to Luzon in the Philippines.
The only species currently named in its genus, a young female was discovered only in 1995 on Mount Sungay. Subsequently others were found
but a male wasn't discovered until 2008. They vary between light and dark brown. The larger female is up to 8cm long with a white central line
along the body and can reproduce by parthenogenesis. The slimmer male is some 5cm long.
