Sabah Thorny Stick Insect Aretaon asperrimus

The Sabah Thorny Stick Insect is native to Sabah in Borneo. The larger female is up to 8cm long with a sharp ovipositor at the tail end to bury eggs. The narrower, smaller, more stick-like male is some 5cm long. They live in dense rainforest and eat leaves. Lifespan is 1-2 years.
